Pumpkin's Patch

Welcome to Pumpkin's Patch!

You'll play as Pumpkin, a feisty feline farmer with an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for bioengineering. Please your customers with pumpkins suitable to their tastes, expand your farm with the goldfish you earn, and combine seed genetics to reach unusual sizes and colour variations!

I didn't have time to add a tutorial (which is most certainly needed) so I'll describe the controls and mechanics here!

WASD - Move
F - Interact
Tab - Open Inventory
R - Restart Game
ESC - Exit Game

Crops don't need to be watered or cared for, Pumpkin has developed an advanced automatic overnight irrigation system! It's very impressive but also perhaps the reason she's low on goldfish at the moment...

To plant a seed in your inventory, right-click a seed then left click a plot. In your inventory, you can combine seeds to increase the chance for varied genetics in the resulting crop. Seeds can't be combine if one of the coloured elements matches (Alpha, Gamma, or Delta). You can also convert pumpkins into three copied seed.

Also, the Grow Speed stat is how many nights it takes to be harvestable, and the Diameter and Height stats are in centimeters.

You'll start with two seeds, two pumpkins, three plots, and a dream. Best of luck!

EDIT: Crash found! If you equip a seed you intend to plant and then mix seeds in your inventory, make sure to re-equip whichever seed you want to plant again afterwards!

The game's pretty scuffed in its current state but hopefully the concept is compelling enough to carry! This game was made in 48 Hours for the GDDC 2023 Fall Game Jam. The theme was "The Great Pumpkin".
